Pathology Department
 

The Pathology Department provides laboratory testing to aid in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of disease.


This department includes the National Ophthalmic Pathology Laboratory, and therefore acts as a tertiary referral centre for ophthalmic pathology and microbiology specimens from all over Ireland.

The pathology department is a multidisciplinary laboratory and includes the following specialities:

  • Histopathology
  • Microbiology
  • Haematology
  • Biochemistry
