The following qualifications shall apply to this appointment: Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of otolaryngology.

An exciting opportunity now exists for a dynamic and enthusiastic experienced Operating Theatre nurse to manage the Theatre and Recovery Department at this specialist referral centre for Ophthalmology and Ear Nose and Throat.

Applicants are expected to meet the following essential criteria:

Currently registered or eligible for registration as a Registered General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
Five years post registration in peri-operative nursing care
Recognised operating theatre course
Recognised management course
Have ENT /Ophthalmic Theatre Nursing experience
Evidence of continuing professional development
· Proven interpersonal and organisational skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication

· Proven leadership skills

· Competency in common Information Technology applications e.g. Word, Excel

· Evidence of implementation and utilisation of audit and research
