The strategic plans define the role of RVEEH in the future provision of healthcare services in partnership with other healthcare providers both locally and nationally.
To this effect, the agreed strategic objectives are the following:

Delivering quality clinical services

RVEEH will prioritise growth areas and create new models of care.  It will strive to improve organisational performance and work in partnership with other healthcare providers in acute and community services to provide integrated care to patients to improve their quality of life.

Developing the infrastructure

The physical layout of the hospital will be reconfigured to meet the new models of care delivery.

ICT Strategy

RVEEH recognises the need for a comprehensive patient information and financial management system and a five-year ICT Strategy has been put in place.

Enhancing the image and position of the Hospital

As the only stand alone hospital in Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology in Ireland, RVEEH is a member of the World Association of Eye Hospitals (WAEH). It will continue to be a source of knowledge and clinical expertise and influence decision makers in the political and wider community.

Research and development

RVEEH will endeavour to promote research and innovation. It will continue to facilitate clinical education and research by strengthening links with the Research Foundation and the Universities.

Strengthening financial position

Priority has been given to optimising budget to deliver value for money by reviewing the financial viability of different models of care.
