Job Description
Grade IV Helpdesk / System Admin Technician – Full Time 37 hours per week
(2 year Fixed Term Contract)
Qualifications / Experience
Essential:
• Technical Accreditation – MSCE or equivalent
• Previous helpdesk experience
Knowledge/Skills
• Extensive knowledge of Windows Server operations, telecommunications, network engineering, client/server computing, and production operations support
• Experience in related IT disciplines such as data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, database administration and outsourced systems
• Strong leadership and management abilities. Ability to lead and work in cross functional project teams in implementing projects of a complex nature
• A deep understanding of the interdependent relationship between infrastructure, information security and the applications/services they enable as well
• Persuasive, professional communication style. Capable of communicating complex, technical topics to a wide variety of audiences. Ability to interact with
senior management and influence decision makers
• Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing conditions and priorities, and to redirect managers and teams toward new objectives
• Excellent understanding of multi-disciplinary nature of IT solutions
• Functional understanding of project management principles and their application to Infrastructure projects and teams
• Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems
• Must have strong organisational skills and multi-tasking capabilities and excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to technology issues is important
• The ability to analyse and evaluate, in a rational objective, consistent and systematic manner a range of complex information and identify the core issues and arguments at hand
• The ability to consider the range of options available involving other parties at the appropriate time and level and make balanced and timely decisions

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, flexible and adaptable individual with the ability to work as part of a team. Excellent organisational, communication and IT skills are required for the posts. Understands and displays the core values and ethos of the RVEEH.
