Job Description

The Royal Victoria Eye & Ear Hospital is a voluntary acute specialist hospital and is the national tertiary centre for the treatment of Ophthalmic, Ear, Nose, Throat, Head and Neck disorders. Recognised as a University Teaching Hospital, it has a tradition of care stretching back to 1814 and has looked after patients on its present site since 1904.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:

ICT Systems Manager
Grade VII, €51,342 – €66,742

The ICT Systems Manager will work closely with the Director of ICT to manage the ongoing development and expansion of the hospital’s Information and Communication Systems (Clinical
and Administrative) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems. The ICT Systems Manager will be an integral part of the ICT team with responsibility for the application and development of software to the highest implementation standards.

Candidates must have at the latest date of application:

• Hold a minimum of a Batchelor’s degree in an IT related discipline
• Have previous experience of Software Systems Management to include a good understanding and working knowledge of Software Systems Management methodologies
• Have a solid understanding and prior experience of MS SQL and other Database technologies
• Have previous development experience and understanding of software development and database integrations
• Have knowledge/experience of VB Programming
• Have a high degree of analytical, conceptual and communication skills to promote the integration of services within and between services for which he/she is responsible
• Be capable of working on own initiative and have a track record of building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships and working across multi-disciplinary teams

Desirable –
• Project Management qualification
• A good understanding and working knowledge of HL7 and/or XML
• A good understanding of FHIR and SMART
