Job Description

The Royal Victoria Eye & Ear Hospital is a voluntary acute specialist hospital and is the national tertiary centre for the treatment of Ophthalmic, Ear, Nose, Throat/Head and Neck disorders. Recognised as a University Teaching Hospital, it has a tradition of care stretching back to 1814 and has looked after patients on its present site since 1904.

Clinical Nurse Manager 11 (1.0 WTE – 39 Hours/Week)

Salary Scale €50,912 – €60,190
Applications are invited from highly motivated and suitably qualified candidates who have a track record in the delivery of consistently high standards of care in a challenging, evolving environment and who will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills, professional leadership and strategic planning in an evolving service.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their capacity for professional responsibility, leadership and business management of a 17 bedded surgical unit.

Essential criteria:
1. Currently registered or eligible for registration as a Registered General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
2. Five years post registration in peri-operative nursing care
3. Ward management experience.
4. Evidence of continuing professional development
5. Recognised management course or a commitment to undertake same
6. Proven management, leadership and organisational competencies
7. Excellent written and verbal communication
8. Commitment to continuous quality improvement in the healthcare setting
9. Proficiency in commonly used IT applications e.g. Word©, Excel©
