Director of Nursing
Job Description
The Director of Nursing will play a lead role in ensuring the hospital is a provider of high quality patient focused services in line with the Hospital’s mission statement. This is a senior management position with overall responsibility for the strategic direction and clinical management of the hospital’s nursing service.
Candidates must:
- Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by the by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or be entitled to be so registered
- Have 10 years post registration nursing experience and 5 years nursing management experience at a minimum of Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM 2) level of which 3 must have been in an acute setting
- Have completed a recognised course in Healthcare Management, preferably at Masters level or equivalent
- Have proven clinical, managerial and leadership skills with an ability to communicate, negotiate and be influential at all levels
- Have broad clinical experience ideally including experience in the management of Ophthalmic and Otolaryngology Nursing
- Have knowledge/experience of Human Resource Management

salary:
Salary in accordance with Director of Nursing Band 3 (General) salary scale as determined by the Department of Health (€67,106 – €74,669).
